Our policies regarding harassment, physical violence, sexual violence, and alcohol abuse within our establishment.
1. Audience members are advised that any hateful, abusive, or derogatory comments directed toward an artist or staff member, as well as any act of physical violence, will result in immediate removal from the venue by our security personnel.
2. Functional security cameras with a seven-day recording retention period operate at all times on the premises to help protect staff, patrons, and performers. Recorded footage may also serve as evidence in the event of misconduct allegations and may be provided to authorities as part of a criminal investigation.
3. A victim identity protection policy has been established, along with an independent advisory committee separate from the organization’s governance structure. Committee members are selected independently and overseen by our programming director to help maintain a healthy work environment and foster open communication
within the club and throughout the comedy community.
4. Our front-of-house staff are trained in the “Ask for an Angel Shot” protocol, allowing guests to discreetly signal discomfort and receive immediate support and assistance from staff and management.
5. Servers at La Cabine are instructed to stop serving alcohol to performers in the green room one hour (60 minutes) after the conclusion of their performance.
6. Any excessive alcohol consumption resulting in disruptive behavior by a performer or audience member will lead to immediate removal from the venue. Any future reinstatement will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, with consideration given to the well-being of staff and patrons.
7. Professional training is provided to service staff to ensure they are equipped to respond appropriately to incidents of sexual violence and workplace harassment.
8. Subject to the availability of the selected organization, an annual intervention and awareness training session will also be offered free of charge to volunteer comedians within the comedy community. The first session will take place within the first month following the club’s opening.
